I feel really uncomfortable the past few days because of this creamy white stuff in my mouth, in my tongue, and inner cheeks. I have also seen some on the roof of my mouth, tonsils, gums, and at the back of my throat. It is actually painful and sometimes it bleeds when I brush my teeth. A friend told me that I may be experiencing thrush. What is thrush? And do you think it is likely to be that?

As to how you described it, I think it is really thrush there that you’re experiencing. I also had thrush before. When I first seen the cheese appearance in my mouth, I already suspected something was wrong. So I went to my dentist, and he conducted some examination to detect if it is really thrush. And when the diagnosis was confirmed, he gave me antifungal medications good for two weeks.

Thrush is an infection of the mouth caused by the candida fungus, also known as yeast. Once the delicate balance of the candida fungus is disturbed, it will grow out of control and it will lead to infection. The best thing for you to do is to go to your dentist and ask for a remedy for it before it turns to worse.

Yes, it is very likely that you have thrush. Visit your dentist at once for an early diagnosis. But make sure that after treatment, you should minimize your chance of developing it again by always observing good oral hygiene.
